2011 Top 10
At various points in the year, I considered five different films for the top slot. Normally that might mean that there was no runaway film that I really fell in love with, but the opposite was true. The difficulty in picking just one was reflective of the different ways in which I adored each of these films.

Tyrannosaur (Considine, 2011)
Hannah is in an abusive relationship (and that's the understatement of the year), and the way Considine lets this play out without Hannah verbalizing the way her relationship with God affects and is affected by her attempts to negotiate her husband's treatment of her allows the film to be achingly real without ever preaching.
