It also makes me think about Burton&#039;s rendering of Alice in Wonderland and how it tries to (and fails, I think) portray female empowerment. Have you written a review of that as well? (I&#039;m off to go see...)</description>

When I saw the title of your blog (1more film blog) I thought it was going to be just that, but your analysis here is very apt and comprehensive.  So often a postmodernized version of an old story never escapes a kind of hypocrisy, because postmodernism is so afraid of making statements and being vulnerable.  Behind all of the glitz postmodern leaves a surprising number of major issues untouched.  That&#039;s why it&#039;s unsurprising that Tarantino&#039;s film manages to make statements where Ella Enchanted doesn&#039;t.  Tanrantino has, well, to put it vulgarly, balls.</description>
